In our time, politics and culture are increasingly oriented to the national scale on the one hand, and the immediate neighborhood on the other.  A book, The Increasingly United States, by  Daniel J. Hopkins, highlights this.  However, in my view, besides […]

The “WWHD Conference — What Would Howard Ahmanson, Sr., Do?” — was held August 1, 2018, the year marking the 50th anniversary of my father’s death.  I decided I wanted to sponsor it, mostly to honor him. In the tumultuous year […]

I was saddened to learn about the death last summer of the Evangelical Christian activist and author Ron Sider (1939–2022). I’ve always found his ideas thought-provoking and have agreed with him in somewhat unexpected ways: https://howardahmansonjr.com/2023/01/ronald-j-sider-1939-2022-on-a-most-conscientious-believer/

Despite weaknesses and economic errors, Ron Sider was a true believer; he didn't care about being ‘trendy’, ‘cool’, or appealing to any establishment, whether the ‘woke’ establishment of our society or the bourgeois establishment of Evangelical churches: https://howardahmansonjr.com/2023/01/ronald-j-sider-1939-2022-on-a-most-conscientious-believer/
